Nine Inch Nails is American alternative rock band known for dark and tortured industrial rock songs. This project is designing the music poster for their concert Ghosts VI: Locusts album. To design a music poster in an intriguing way which reflects the bands concept while simultaneously capturing the attention of their audience and encouraging them to attend their concert.
A distressed texture has been added to the photograph to represent that we can no longer do things we could have done before Covid-19, such as traveling, hanging out with friends, shopping, and going to school.
For the colors, I chose yellow and grey from Pantone's pandemic colors for 2021, which indicate a covid situation.
For the vinyl design, I tried to maintain a unified concept with the poster and used spot UV varnish on the text to make the text and background image contrast.
Adding a personal touch made me reflect on how covid impacted my life, using that an inspiration for the design. I listened to their albums and absorbed the emotions the band felt through their songs and expressed them through posters.
